Do you want to find out more about what West Cornwall’s environmental campaigners are doing to fight climate change?
MP Derek Thomas, together with WI Climate Ambassador Pippa Stilwell, is hosting a Climate Focus Event which will explain how local groups are responding to the climate emergency at a virtual event which takes place next Wednesday, 24th February at 4pm.
“We have invited established local climate groups to give presentations about the work they are doing in order to better inform and engage local residents in relation to climate change,” said Mr Thomas.
“The event next Wednesday is one of a series of meetings designed to give people a flavour of the excellent initiatives already happening around West Cornwall so that people understand what action can be taken locally to support climate change action groups and Cornwall Council in their efforts to address the impacts of climate change.
“There will also be an opportunity to learn more about Government policy and scrutinise its effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions and protecting the natural environment.”
The Climate Focus Event will run for around 90 minutes from 4pm next Wednesday, 24th February and there will be an opportunity for Q&A’s/open discussion. The event will be held via Zoom as a webinar.
