The co-chair of the Conservative Party, Amanda Milling MP (right), paid a recent visit to Penzance and, with MP Derek Thomas, met up with Richard and Siobhan Tubb, landlords of the Dolphin Tavern.
Siobhan told the MPs of their experiences during lockdown and how they had made every effort to keep the business afloat despite not qualifying for Business Grant support.
Mr Thomas told his fellow MP that he was disappointed that his efforts to get the Dolphin included in the support scheme had not proved successful but glad that he was able to help them secure the partial road closure that has enabled them to provide extra covers having lost several indoors due to the need to socially distance.
Mr Thomas added that he would make the case for some creative and targeted support during the winter months.
