Derek Thomas has a vacancy in his constituency team for someone with first class writing and inter-personal skills to take on the role of communications officer/researcher.
“The successful candidate will enjoy research and have the ability to cut through to the heart of an issue to provide pertinent, punchy briefings as well as press and social media releases,” said Mr Thomas.
“A key part of the role will be to provide administrative support and undertake research to develop the community projects I’m involved in and you’ll also deal with complex queries and complaints on my behalf, which will entail drafting letters to Government departments, the local authority, public agencies and other bodies.
“In addition, you will respond to correspondence and enquiries from constituents, the media and pressure groups and prepare media releases on local national and national issues.”
